Medical Informatics
Medical Informatics (MI) at Linköping University was founded in 1973. Head of the group is Professor Hans Knutsson.
Research is directed towards the developement of adaptive techniques for representation, processing, presentation and visualization of medical images, data and knowledge. A number of graduate and undergraduate courses are given within the field of Medical Informatics. The group is coordinating SemanticMining and is a core partner in SIMILAR, both European Networks of Excellence.
MI is a part of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and a part of the Linköping Institute of Technology. MI is also affiliated to the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualisation, CMIV, and the Faculty of Health Sciences. Presently the group consists of 19 people.
